Do you feel an emptiness inside? Do you feel that life should be more than chasing the latest fashion, having the newest car, climbing the corporate ladder, having the biggest house or the best this world has to offer? Some of the most miserable people in the world have, what most would consider, the most “success”. They have all the physical possessions they could want, but there is a loneliness inside that they can’t quite resolve. If you are feeling that loneliness inside, feel unworthy or feel that no one loves you, the message from Port City is that We Love You and most important, GOD LOVES YOU!!!! God cares for you and no matter what you’ve done, He’s waiting with open arms for you to reach out to Him for that special relationship that only He can provide. You don’t have to wait to get “good enough” to come to Him. None of us are good enough. He will take us just as we are. No sin is too great that God’s love can’t reach down and completely cleanse you and give you a brand-new start!

The sole purpose for our ministry is to spread the Good News of a loving God that has made a way for reconciliation and peace with Him through His son Jesus Christ. Port City does not believe in promoting a “religion”, but rather a “relationship”. Many religions make you work for the right to enter heaven. We believe that we could never be good enough to enter the presence of a perfect and holy God. One sin is enough to keep us out of heaven. We believe that our loving God saw our dilemma and sent His Son to pay the penalty for our sins through His shed blood on the cross. We believe He died on the cross and three days later rose from the dead. By fully trusting and accepting Jesus as our personal savior, we can have peace with God.

When Jesus was asked the greatest commandment, first on His list was loving God with all your heart and second was loving each other. Our relationship with God should be the most important aspect in our lives. We also have a biblical and social responsibility to be loving to our neighbors and do all we can to be a positive influence in the world to others.  We should let the light of Jesus shine through us through doing what we can to help the less fortunate in society and leading others to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Each of the members of Port City are heavily involved and hold positions in our own home churches, come from a variety of denominational backgrounds and are united in our mission of proclaiming the gospel and holding dear the following core truths as quoted directly from scripture:

Romans 3:10

10 As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one:

Romans 3:23

23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 6:23

23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Isaiah 64:6

But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags;

James 2:10

10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

John 3:16

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 14:6

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Romans 5:8

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Ephesians 2:8-9

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Acts 4:12

12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Romans 6:23

23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Acts 16:31

31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved,….

Romans 10:13

13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Romans 10:9-10

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

God wants to hear from you. How awesome is that! The creator of the universe loves you and desires a relationship with you. If you have never asked Jesus to be Lord and Savior of your life, why not begin now? Salvation is not based on what we’ve done, but what Jesus has done for us. Eternity in heaven is a free gift, but a gift is only valid if you reach out to receive it. If you desire a relationship with Jesus, here is a sample prayer that you can pray. Note that merely reciting a few sentences does not save you if you don’t mean it. Walking the aisle of a church will not save you if you do not sincerely mean it. Truly trusting in Jesus and accepting Him as your personal Savior will enable you to fully have peace with God and an assurance of eternity with Him.

“Dear God, I know that I’m a sinner. I know that You love me. And I know that You want to save me. I confess that I am a sinner. My sin deserves judgment, but I need mercy. I want to be saved. I want to be forgiven. I want to be cleansed. Jesus, I believe You’re the Son of God. I believe You paid for my sin with Your blood on the cross. I believe God raised You from the dead. I now receive You and trust You as my Lord and Savior. Come into my heart. Forgive my sin. Cleanse me. Save me, Lord Jesus. In your name I pray, Amen.”

If you prayed that prayer with sincerity, we are excited for you as you begin your journey in a relationship with God through the saving power of Jesus Christ. You will want to share the good news with others and search for a Bible believing church were you can have fellowship with others and grow in your Christian faith. Please check the schedule for when Port City will be in your area and come join us share with us the good news of your relationship with Jesus!!
